| In the 18th century Georgian home, it was considered essential that books have a valued place within the family. For a larger room a breakfront bookcase was the choice, the center section giving stability to the whole and at the same time in many cases, also incorporating a center secretaire pullout drawer. |
| For other situations, a bureau bookcase with glazed or cupboard doors was a practical solution, offering a desk and place for the prized books. Also available, was a secretaire bookcase, with a straight pullout drawer or just a bookcase mounted on a practical cupboard base. The color of the wood, moldings, inlay and other decorative features make each unique in its own right and a fine addition to any home. |
